When I made the dinner - sausage & chestnut dressing, sweet potato AND pumpkin pies, def coleslaw, succotash (I like the southwestern kind now - more colorful) mashed potatoes, gravy, warm rolls, relish tray - pickles - sweet gherkins, kosher dill spears, home canned bread & butter pickles, vegetable tray - carrots, celery. radishes...candied sweet potatoes. Green bean casserole. Couches for after dinner comas. It was crazy.

Not and live to tell about it.
My (now ex) husband's ex-wife died and for the first time his tribe of four kids, spouses, and their kids, plus assorted other guests, were coming for dinner. 29 of them. I bought the mother of all turkeys and got up at three am to get things started, only to find I had no roaster the turkey would fit in. I called a neighbor who between her and her second husband had 16 kids and borrowed a roaster that looked like a vat to water cattle. THEN I found out my oven had died sometime in the night. I suspected a sabotage conspiracy. I called ANOTHER friend who owned a restaurant and informed him he had to roast my turkey and when the guests arrived, dinner was ready, but the hostess was fairly frazzled.@Motosh72
