It sounds like your raising agents needed a teaspoon of viagra 😉

Last night I made Triple Chocolate Brownie Surprise. Over cooked them to the point where, if I'd wanted to actually try eating them, I'd have needed a hammer and chisel to hack a chunk loose.
I'm going to try to find the story I wrote a few years ago, about a batch of cookies I baked.

@Serenitree I did want to mention that I once saved three enormous loaves of banana nut bread I had made for a church function. I burned the outsides, as a friend of mine suggested my oven temperature was off, and it wasn't.
HOWEVER (and this turned out quite well) I cut off the hard burnt crusts, chopped the bread, and placed it into two enormous baking dishes, sprinkled it with chocolate chips all over, and then made a recipe for chocolate custard, using almond extract instead of vanilla, poured the cocoa milk and egg and sugar and extract mix over all, and I ended up with the most fabulous chocolate banana nut bread pudding!!!
Always do this with overcooked desserts. The milk and egg softens and saves everything you thought ruined.

@4meAndyou I could try it, I suppose, but it's all frosted.
4meAndyou · F
@Serenitree Oh, well, that's done for it then. ☺️
So, my most common disaster is:
I am boiling water in a pot,
and I forget,
and it's still ON
and the pot is hot AF
and it's mildly warped by now (at the bottom). Still functional though ;)
😐😳😆🤣😂

@4meAndyou So, Walmart? :D
4meAndyou · F
@LunadelobosIAMTHEDRAGON I can't really remember. I think I was on ebay and ordered it. It was around 7.99 and it's not fancy, but so far I haven't been able to break it! LOL!!!
@4meAndyou Ok. Yeah. I buy stuff from E bay or Amazon.
Apparently I have Amazon prime, and I don't exactly recall ordering it.
I know I inquired about it on the site, but I think I actually, inadvertently may have ordered it. 😳😐🤪
Wow. I need to verify with them.
But this small thing, I will purchase locally.

Misreading seconds for minutes and nearly setting the microwave on fire
4meAndyou · F
@TheSirfurryanimalWales 😆 I did that the other night with popcorn...LOL!!!
@TheSirfurryanimalWales OMG! 😂😳 So happy it's all OK now.
That's funny and sad. 😄
I think you got unlucky with all the old food.
If you don't have a viable/fresh rising agent when you bake, you'll have this kind of a situation.
I think it's probably a good thing dear: It could have caused you food poisoning.
Oh sure, I have had a few disasters.

@4meAndyou Rice milk for us costs the same as coconut milk. I know coconut water is super expensive...
I mean it's in the fridge along with Soy milk, cow milk, etc.

@LunadelobosIAMTHEDRAGON The rice milk is shelf stable till opened.
@4meAndyou Yes. Now I remember that from our health food store.
I used to buy soy, until I read how bad it is.

On a brighter note, you could build yourself a little wall out in the garden.
4meAndyou · F
@pennynoodles What a great idea! 😆

I wanted to make béchamel sauce today. Butter, flour, milk, dried herbs. Well, I had herb flavored milk instead. 😑 It stayed in liquid form and I have no idea why.
4meAndyou · F
@CrazyMusicLover That's crazy! With me I know it's time to buy new baking powder, but butter flour and milk have ALWAYS worked! 🤔
CrazyMusicLover · 31-35
@4meAndyou I must have used too little flour, otherwise, I really don't understand what happened.
4meAndyou · F
@CrazyMusicLover That's the only explanation. 2 Tablespoons flour for every cup of milk.

One morning back in August 2013, I was making pancakes with a plastic spatula, and the plastic actually melted into the batter and ended up in the pancakes. Had to throw them away, obviously.
4meAndyou · F
@SW-User OMgosh..how awful! However, I'm sure the pancakes would have been good if not for the defective equipment.

SW-User
@4meAndyou Yep, they would have been perfect if they were actually edible. Luckily I found out before eating them or else I would have been poisoned 😵.
awwww....sorry to hear that happened ... they sound like they would be so yummy if they came out normal.... maybe it was the combination of the old powder & Rice Dream you think?
4meAndyou · F
@nightowl99 Old baking powder with no more rise in it, old cake flour, and rice dream in combination, and the baking time said 20 to 25 minutes at 400 degrees. I will never bake a muffin for 25 minutes at 400 degrees again, that's for sure! 😜
xixgun · M
Well, the idea sounded good.
SweetMae · 70-79, F
Yes, but are they edible?? 😂
4meAndyou · F
@SweetMae I did try to eat one. That's how I know the muffin cups need to be cut off with a steak knife, and that's how I know they are as dense as gnocchi. BUT...if you can get past the concept that these were supposed to be beautiful cake-like creations....the chocolate chips are still good. 😊

I was watching food network and. I saw them roasting int the stove Habernaro chilies.
I was like I got this.
I chop the pepper like I always doo and put them on the stove .
The seeds burst and I had actually made tear gas in our apartment. We where coughing and tearing up.
Note they toast the peppers whole not chopped or sliced

I tried to crack an egg once....
4meAndyou · F
@AzureGecko Yes, I once saw the movie Sabrina, where Audrey Hepburn demonstrates how to cleanly crack an egg with one hand....but that never works when I try it. 😉
