Can you pronounce the word "Edamame"?

Because none of my customers seem to be able to. Not that I'm judging them😐
BUT!

It's FOUR syllables. E-DA-MA-ME

Not Edmae, Edame, Edme, Edma, Mame, Dame, or anything else.
I just don't get it, why do people skip so many syllables? It's not a tough word...
At least to me

I suppose for the same reason there are many who cannot properly pronounce my name. The "Y" instead of the "I" really seems to throw them. So much so, that they often completely leave the last letter of my name off.

is the last 'ME' pronounced as the pronoun 'me' or like 'meh'?
@Dan193

😆 It does kind of look like it would be "Eda maim" or something like that if you've never seen it before as an English speaker.
@DDonde
I guess thats true. They may think it a foreign word. Forgot to think about perspectives
