Do you have any weird tastes in food?

I like peanut butter and honey on a buttered and toasted onion bagel. (Yes, that’s what I said.)

Ranch dressing on tacos.

Buttered toast dunked in hot chocolate.

Coleslaw is a required accompaniment to baked or fried chicken, roasted ham and turkey.

Chili and cornbread were made for each other. One or the other just doesn’t cut it.

I’m not crazy about flour tortillas. I love corn tortillas (any color) but I don’t like them disintegrating in my hand when I bite into them. So I buy corn tortillas raw and fry them to a slight crisp but so they remain pliable and obedient.

I like tuna and chicken salad tacos.

What are yours?
my taste is pretty plain. Am not much into eating. Simple wheat flour made chapaties and cereal/s (lentils) most times. Being a vegetarian, fruits at times for the morning, if only I remember. 🙂
@Mamapolo2016 🤗 🌮 🍰 🎂
@sspec Yes, coaxing works too. ROFL. Chocolate cake is surefire.
@Mamapolo2016 😄😘
i put brussells sprouts in my chicken noodle soup
@Mamapolo2016 i cook them in the soup
@DuchessOfMapleSyrup I like chicken noodle soup and Brussels sprouts. No reason I wouldn’t like them together. Is this an ethnic tradition or your own invention?
@Mamapolo2016 just decided to add them one day since the doc told me to eat more leafy greens. i also put spinach in it.

I agree with several of your combos. 😋
@Fauxmyope2 Well, honey, back in 1783 when I got my first job as kitchen wench...

@Mamapolo2016 😂. Perhaps I’ve seen you at Strawberry Banke on a field trip when I was in Middle School.
@Fauxmyope2 I doubt it. I try to avoid places with words that end in ‘e’ but shouldn’t.

Had enough of that the first couple of lives what with Ye Olde Taverne and such.

I didn't realize there was such a thing as fresh corn tortillas that didn't disintegrate in your hand?

Weird food tastes?

Absolutely!

I grew up in sugar cane country and came to love my tamales with a molasses topping.

The only ones we could get that stayed together were directly from the tortilla factory. Also, warmed, they will stay together sometimes.

Great picture.

Kansas has a large Mexican crowd with lots of neighborhoods and communities that date back to the railroad building days. I also spend time on the Tx-Mx border and in Mexico. Love the food.
@Heartlander Pretty food.

@Mamapolo2016

Yes, pretty.

Most (maybe ALL?) the grocery stores in Tx are part of the HEB chain and they operate huge stores in the border towns. The blending smell of the bakeries, fresh produce, the delis and humanity is something to be enjoyed.
Loved your description of the food. No, my tastes are pretty bland. Though I have put Italian dressing or ranch dressing on leftover pasta. Making an instant pasta salad.

I'm partial to ducks feet and duck tongues - weird if your a Westerner but not if your Chinese 😂😂
@Dlrannie I imagine it’s pretty weird if you’re a Chinese duck. 😯

along the tuna salad line, I'm one of those people that likes fruit in mine
@Jackaloftheazuresand I like the sweetness but not the combined textures (halved grapes are okay, but not quite right). I use sweet relish in tuna salad.

This site is so weird😂
@Hasmita So that’s where your weird taste is directed. 🤔
nutella with cheese...
