Chivalry...NOT DEAD

I went to pick up some Chinese earlier, and as I approached the door, a man in his 60s or so was leaving. He stopped and held the door for me, with a smile. It really is the little things in life, I felt important lol. THEN, as I was about to enter the second door to go in, another guy was already coming out, in his 30s perhaps, and he stopped shot, and stepped backwards to hold THAT door for me...he was smiling a big smile,, and I must say quite attractive. I thanked him as well, and felt like I was some celebrity! Two doors in a row! Haha. Its sad in a way because thats the most interaction Ive had with men since the pandemic, but I was grateful all the same. Chivalry is here, ladies. 🌹😌😊🌺(and thank you gentleman for making my night!)

I recall a time i was 21 at college. 2 sets of double doors to get to the cafeteria. I was actually leaving and as i stepped outside i heard yelling from behind. This girl, looked like a dyke, was screaming that i slammed the door on her. I did notice her as i was leaving but didnt know she was going my way, she was like 20 feet back. Anyway she goes on a rant like men are "suppose" to open the door for ladies. I said to her "youre absolutely right. And im glad i didnt since you dont know how to act like one" and i quickly scuffled away before she could berate me some more lol

@Coralmist if i recall correctly chivalry was originally meant to be courteous to all. There is a lot of culture that goes into it..ill have to research it some day. Down here in the south, opening doors for people or letting someone in your lane is a pretty common practice. Sometimes the guys race to do something for a lady, especially the attractive ones haha

@JestAJester I spent time down south and I do have to agree those are some of the most polite people I ever experienced.
JestAJester · 31-35, M
@Dainbramadge thank ya bud. There are a few karens and chads here but for the most part they're friendly
You absolutely deserved that treat.... gentlemen can realise a true lady..... and this might be a good start to more interactions and seriouse one too.... 🤗🤗🌹

Those little courtesies are always a bright spot in my day, too. Surely more than the person extending them with a genuine smile could ever know.
Coralmist · 41-45, F
@Piper I know, truly! I wish I could've chatted with one of them and said, Youre cute lol. But I beamed back and thanked him, and he seemed happy. 🙂

For us old guys in our sixties, just holding the door for an attractive woman is about all the excitement we can handle
Coralmist · 41-45, F
@chuck7882 awww 😊 well this lass says thank you!!🍀
That’s really cool…😇👍🏻
Coralmist · 41-45, F
@Vivaci It was small but made me feel special 🤭
I appreciate those little gestures too. @Coralmist Sometimes, a simple thank you or Good morning wish by a complete stranger makes my day. 😇
This is so true! The guys at my work spoil me so much, they will literally wait for me to walk down the stairs to hold the door open. I will be thinking like damn their wives are so lucky.
braveheart21 · 61-69, M
Are you wearing a short skirt and walking down stairs as the guys wait for you??? @SweetNSassy
@braveheart21 no, they are just awesome people.
braveheart21 · 61-69, M

It does make you feel good when you meet gentlemen. I recall my first solo outing in America as a new arrival to these shores, and a man held the store door open for me, and called me mam. I’d never been called mam before in my life. It was lovely.

I Alwayz Do That At Work. Help Woman Unload their Stuff to they're Car & then open their door & tell them have a safe day & God Bless Them.
Coralmist · 41-45, F
@LILREBELDOM69VAMP69 Aww, really kind of you🦋
LILREBELDOM69VAMP69 · 46-50, M
@Coralmist I try my best. Believe it or not I only had eight females my whole life and I guess probably because I'm a gentleman nobody's used to that so that's why they leave me.
Jamesy · 41-45, M
I would put my cape across a puddle for you to walk on
Coralmist · 41-45, F
@Jamesy Aww that is truly noble Jamesy🌹
Jamesy · 41-45, M
@Coralmist Your the first girl that doesn't mind that I wear a cape💜

@JoyfulSilence Now that is a Prince, wow!!
Bang5luts · M
I always hold the door for people. Not trolling. People used to have that much common courtesy. Now everyone mean mugs each other.
bhatjc · 46-50, M
He was raised right
iamonfire696 · 41-45, F
That’s because he grew up with manners. Lots of younger men today don’t have those. I have taught my boys how important this is.
