Labour relations

So I was enjoying a lie in this morning after a late finish to work, when my daughter called from school asking me to bring in her hockey skirt. Fifty minutes later, while I was handing over said clothing at the gate, she asked for a raise in her pocket money πŸ™„

Now times are hard and the value of money is eroded daily by inflation. But at the same time productivity has sharply fallen in our household since I sold my car (daughter used to clean it inside and out every three weeks as part of the chores she does for her allowance). So I don't think we have a very strong business case to present to the Board (my wife).

Being a Keynesian, I am all in favour of increasing the money supply regardless and boosting the local economy through sales of hair accessories, friendship bracelets, and Cadbury's fruit and nut bars 😝 But the economist in me wonders how just how sustainable this is or how the markets might react. My sister would go further and remove the link between pocket money and chores altogether. Although in theory I am in favour of a universal income, I still appreciate a helping hand with vacuuming and sweeping up leaves πŸ™‚

Taken offguard, I meekly replied, "We will discuss it at dinnertime". So already I find myself in a weakened negotiating position πŸ€¦β€β™€οΈ

Awwwwwww! πŸ’–πŸ’–πŸ’– I think it is very good for children to learn to do some chores and be independent however I also hate the idea of too many chores as I personally believe childhood should be lots of fun! πŸ€Έβ€β™€οΈπŸ€Έβ€β™€οΈπŸ€Έβ€β™€οΈ I give my precious girls chores and give Isabella pocket money for that but Emily prefers me to buy her gifts instead cause she likes presents more than money! πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ If you don't want to increase her allowance but still want to reward her you could let her choose a small gift to buy her instead but maybe cause of my autism and my kids autism we prefer gifts in our family! 😝😝😝 All families are different and I wouldn't change yours for the whole world! πŸ€—πŸ€—πŸ€— Listening to music helps make chores more fun and I think giving kids chores is a very good thing and helps them learn as long as they have time to play and be a kid cause kids learn though play so I believe kids should also have time to have fun everyday too! πŸ’–πŸ’–πŸ’– YOU'RE AWESOME! πŸ€—πŸ€—πŸ€—

@MommyLucy I only jest πŸ˜‰ She loves to be kept busy at home and I would never stop her pocket money because she didn't want to do chores.

She babysits quite regularly for the girls next door and the neighbours pay rather more handsomely than I do!

@SunshineGirl Awwwww! πŸ’–πŸ’–πŸ’– My precious girls do chores too! πŸ€—πŸ€—πŸ€— I hope your lovely special girl has plenty of time to have fun though as I do think having fun is an important part of childhood and as an autistic person with special interests I believe in encouraging kids hobbies and interests! 😁😁😁 For example my youngest Emily loves the cartoon My Little Pony so I make sure to give her time to watch a couple episodes of her favourite cartoon My Little Pony or play with her My Little Pony toys too! πŸ€—πŸ€—πŸ€— Both my precious girls love gymnastics so I let them do lots of gymnastics with me in the garden and living room! πŸ™ƒπŸ™ƒπŸ™ƒ Your special girl should definitely be given chores but please please pretty please make sure she has plenty of time for fun things too? 😘😘😘 My favourite fun things are gymnastics and Disney cartoons which do help me be stress free after work! 😝😝😝

@MommyLucy She's just come back home with another girl and they are practising dance moves in her bedroom. On Wednesday she had a big argument with that girl in school and was in floods of tears when she got home. I don't know what they did to make up, but both have obvioisly decided thay dancing is much more fun than arguing!

Are you having a nice week at home with your youngest?

@SunshineGirl Awwwwww! πŸ’–πŸ’–πŸ’– THANKS SOOOO MUCH FOR ASKING! 😍😍😍 My youngest has been an absolute angel at home this week! πŸ€—πŸ€—πŸ€— Bless her she's done her homework with help but she did all her homework with no fuss and we spent the school hours at home doing gymnastics and playing with My Little Pony figures and watching My Little Pony cartoons and doing homework and cooking and drawing and I took her to work as well on Wednesday and yesterday and she was an absolute angel! 🀩🀩🀩 Her homework is all finished for today so now she is playing with her My Little Pony toys in the living room between the television and the gymnastics bar! πŸ¦„πŸ¦„πŸ¦„ By the way this is her favourite song in the whole world which she relistens to everyday lots and lots and lots more! 😝😝😝
