When you pay someone back, are you rounding up or rounding down?

or giving exact change?

Depends how much it is really. If it’s a large amount then I’ll give the exact change. If it’s like for example £9 or $9 depending on where you’re from then I’d just give them £10/$10

Btw you look stunning on your profile pic

Rounding up. To the euro or the tenth euro depending on who it is. If it’s my best friend and I owe him €17, he’ll get a 20 and we don’t talk about it. If it’s my brother, I want change, lmao.

I don’t think about it. Whatever feels right is what I give. And it’s usually “dictated” by the other party… “You still owe me blank.95 for last weeks items at the grocery store..”

I either have spare change to nickel and dime them or just hand them the dollars and not worry about it. Whatever rips off the bandaid the fastest.

Depends on the amount. I usually round up though. I'll never short change them. It's either exact pay back or round up.

@Turtlepower I’ll always round up with cash, and then if I’m using cashapp/venmo/zelle I’ll either round up or do exact change
JackHoff · 46-50, M
I always round up. Can’t remember the last time I had to pay someone back.

@JackHoff I feel like I’m paying someone or they’re paying me once or twice a week. Today someone asked if I could get them a bottle of water and they’d Venmo me. I said to not worry about it, I’ll just get the water. They insisted they send the money, so I said ok, and then they rounded down. It didn’t bother me, I didn’t even want them to pay, but I’m always an exact change or round up person.

@itsok that was nice of you and I would rather them not pay me then round down.

Generally rounding up. I'm told people don't like it when you give exact change. I don't give a shit one way or the other, so I'd rather just do what other people like.

Round up. I mean … they lent me the money, so a little extra seems nice
itsok · 31-35, F
@DownTheStreet I see that. I was thinking more like, paying someone back as soon as they’ve paid for something.
DownTheStreet · 56-60, M
@itsok I think for the most part I’d round up
Gibbon · 70-79, M
Oh oh I had to back up. You're talking cash and was thinking baseball bats. Oops
itsok · 31-35, F
@Gibbon I don’t even know enough about baseball to know it could be confused, sorry!
Gibbon · 70-79, M
@itsok Ooof the bat is a weapon of payback. Communication breakdown and tongue in cheek funny gone.

eye for an eye…tooth for a tooth…sounds like a rather bloody affair no matter what.
itsok · 31-35, F
@Pfuzylogic maybe you should just start using cash and keep all your body parts, fuzz
Usually rounding up
