Florida in an Insurance Crisis

I have been paying 4800 per year for my homeowners with large deductibles. I received my renewal for 9899 per year. I received a Citizens' quote for 5640 today. I can pay that all in one lump sum. Or lower my coverage. Pretty upset over this.

Its a rip off, of course.. However, not unexpected. Floods, storm damage, that the global warming that doesnt exist. And of course in America you can end up in court sued by your neighbour for whistling on a Tuesday.. Someones got to keep those lawyers from being homeless.馃樂

@whowasthatmaskedman you know what is sad? these big companies like state farm form what are called PUP companies. the Florida Pup looks like it isn't making money while the rest of the companyis...because Florida never gets factored in...I am now with the state company and that is not good either

@whowasthatmaskedman i have no love of personal injury attorneys, but i do not think that is what is causing her increase, unless she sees it on the liability premium.

@samueltyler2 its homeowners...and we had private adjusters (public) writing up fake estimates and making insurance companies pay for the roofs.

@akindheart the government needs to step in!

@samueltyler2 they did. the crooks keep cropping up. then the carriers said we will cherry pick and write the auto but not the homeowners. gov DeSantis said no.

@samueltyler2 I agree. Florida is sort of the worst case scenario for rising seas and storms..馃樂
