Do physical bank branches where you live still provide services that are actually banking, like cash transactions (both ways), etc?

Physical bank branches are shrinking here and many make you pay a fee to do cash transactions over the counter (regardless that you're an account holder at the bank).

We will not have cheques in Australia from about 2028/9, so it's quite possible the government is planning an 'assault' on cash starting around then. I haven't got a cheque for years, and I can't even get them to pay other people with anymore.

In western Canada the phyisical branches of most banks do exist.

I am aware of one credit union that charges $5 for transactions with a teller that you could do at the ATM.

There are at least 2 banks that are almost branchless, in that everything is DIY on line.
