Do physical bank branches where you live still provide services that are actually banking, like cash transactions (both ways), etc?

Physical bank branches are shrinking here and many make you pay a fee to do cash transactions over the counter (regardless that you're an account holder at the bank).

We will not have cheques in Australia from about 2028/9, so it's quite possible the government is planning an 'assault' on cash starting around then. I haven't got a cheque for years, and I can't even get them to pay other people with anymore.

I maintain an account with one local physical bank as well as an internet bank. The branch is handy to deposit cash when necessary. But transfers each way between banks can be done on line..😷
