anyone else ever had their bank card shut down for nothing

ive been using the same bank for yrs, theres been about 3 or 4 times when they shut my card down when i was the only one using it, i have a debit card, i usually dont use cash and just use a debit card unless i have to get quarters for laundry, yesterday when i was going thru my emails i saw something on my emails that i wanted to buy, it was a massager thing that helps with foot pain so i thought it might help me, i did the online stuff where i gave my debit card number to them to pay for it, then after i finished what i was doing it said it got declined. i called the bank up after i saw something on my phone from the bank about the usual message about it being declined, they shut my card down just cause ive never bought anything from them before, i told them it was me and not someone using my card, they unblocked it so i went and did it again so i could order it, ive complained to my bank before cause of it. i thought they stopped doing it cause it hasnt happened in a while but now it happened again, i hate to think what if i go out to eat and it gets declined for something i didnt know about cause i wasnt home, i wouldnt want to get in trouble for not being able to pay for it. anything i can do to put a stop to it or do i have to use cash now all the time to stop them from doing that. ive thought of switching banks but i heard it happens to people in other banks too, any suggestions? i hate when they do it for nothing, i told them to leave a note saying im the only one using my card, do i have to use checks everywhere? yrs ago someone did take $1000 out of my bank acct and i told the bank and they gave me the money back while they investigated it but i never found out who did it. im not stupid, i check my statements online every day , if i see something that shouldnt be there i would call them but its mean for them to shut it down when im not doing anything wrong, its not like i was buying drugs or anything with it. so how to stop this?

Perhaps you don’t use it often for online shopping …. They might block the card until they make sure that it’s you …

Or

Your debit card is expired …

@Soossie its not expired
@pearllederman

So perhaps considering the illegal withdraw of 1000 dollars from your account they have made it a policy to block payment before making sure that it’s you ..
@Soossie If the card was expired, she wouldn't be able to enter a valid expiry date on the website and wouldn't get to the point where the payment was declined.

I learned that recently when I tried to buy something, but my card expired months ago and my bank didn't bother to replace it in time.
