Everyone always says Mike Tyson vs. Muhammad Ali would be a boxing dream match

But if the two were to actually face off in some alternate reality where they met in their primes, Ali would've been Tyson's worst nightmare. No disrespect to Tyson, but every time he stepped in the ring with a boxer who trained properly and didn't let themselves be intimidated by his aggressive style, they gave him hell. This hypothetical Tyson vs. Ali match would just be another vintage fight for Ali that would see Tyson down by the tenth round.

Difficult one to weigh up as when was Ali at his best? In his youth he was incredibly fast but he took more chances which could land him into trouble or in his late 20s early 30s when he could soak up more punishment but either style of Ali against a 20 year old Tyson he would of had his vulnerabilities.

Tyson on the other hand was only at his best when Cus D'Amato was alive and he had Kevin Rooney in his corner once Don King had control of him he was never quite the same he didn't train right or have the commitment or have good people in his corner who could tell him what he was doing right or wrong between rounds but in his peak he was so fast and compact and well trained with good corner men he was practically indestructible but when he lost his edge he was just a short guy with short arms.

So in my opinion Tyson could of maybe beat Ali at his absolute peak but Ali would of beat him at any other point in time and Ali quite rightly deserves the title of the greatest because he never gave up and even if Tyson had of beaten him Ali would of had the metal to comeback train twice as hard and beat Tyson in a rematch.

Tyson in his prime would destroy Ali but if Ali was also in his prime idk. Tyson at his most Tysonest could beat anyone that ever lived.

@Lostpoet At his most Tysonest haha, you mean back in the mid 80's when he didn't even have a neck, LOLZ!?😆

Ali in his prime would beat Tyson to a bloody pulp.

Tyson is explosive and deadly at close range. Ali is better defensively and far more agile. For Ali to prevail over Tyson, Ali must tire Tyson out and prolong the match to the later rounds to have a chance. I'd give Ali the edge.

@tenente I think he'd have no trouble doing so either. Ali's style was all about wearing down and humiliating his opponents. With Tyson's infamous fatigue and anxiety toward the middle rounds, Ali would have a field day with him.

@tenente Tough to count Tyson out though. His style has a lot of bite to it 😬😬😏😏
