How did Mike Tyson lose the match yesterday? Glad you asked.
Ignoring the fact that he was probably told to pull punches, he still could have won in a normal match.
This was not a normal match.
Jake Paul did his best to rig that thing. How, you ask? Again ignoring the instructions given to Mike, because when you're all amped up in the ring, that's easy enough to ignore, he pulled a dirty little trick.
A standard boxing ring is anywhere from 16 to 24 feet (or between 4.9 and 7.3 meters, for our European friends). The ring at Madison Square Garden, in which he had some of his most famous fights, was 18 and a half feet per side.
The ring in which Mike and Jake Paul had their match is bigger than that. Now, that probably doesn't sound like it would make much difference, but at his age, Tyson only has the advantage If you don't have room to run around him while dodging his iron fists.
Jake Paul made sure he had that room.
He ran around until Mike got tired, literally running rings around him. He knew that historically, if Mike gets in close, you are toast. So he did what he could to legally and legitimately rig the odds in his favor, giving his young legs room to run around while the old warrior swung at air.
It wasn't right.
It wasn't fair.
What it was, was classic Jake Paul.
