I saw a documentary about rich people paying a monthly fee to rent space in a bunker should the need arise. How great of a business model is that?!
The kicker is you only have X amount of time after whatever happens to get there before they lock the bunker. If you're late you don't get in. I wanna say it was in california. I'm sure during the apocalypse there won't be any traffic or anything to deal with on the way to their rented bunker spot.

Delusion that if the world becomes unstable due to regions becoming uninhabitable (be it for climate change, war, Putin dropping nukes, etc.) they'll survive if they retreat in those.

Ignoring that those would provide shelter at most for months (or one-digit years), and that the events they're trying to shelter themselves from would have consequences spanning over decades if not centuries.

Long story short they'll die of starvation or dehydration too, along with everyone else, just later than many. Perhaps their ambitions is to be the last humans to die.
