Do You Have ...

... A preferred genre of show, movie, or literature?

I'm a sucker for science fiction, psychological horror, and thrillers.
Primnproper · 56-60, F
Love the psychological horrors and thrillers, not so much gore though.
Equally enjoy a good musical film or show like Les Misérables or Phantom of the Opera..
Samek · 36-40, M
@Primnproper I too am not fond of excessive gore. The Thing (with Kurt Russell) is an exception.
Primnproper · 56-60, F
@Samek great movie! Yes i enjoyed it immensely.
cherokeepatti · 61-69, F
I like movies with quirky characters. Just re-watched Bagdad Cafe this week and it is a movie you don’t want to miss a minute of. The plot of the movie was good too, at first it seems like chaos but there is definitely a good theme and plot.
I also loved watching Sling Blade, it is set in a small town with a lot of quirky characters.

And I like foreign movies with English subtitles if there is a good storyline. Something with human interest.
Samek · 36-40, M
@cherokeepatti I recommend Battle Royale from Japan. :)
Jeephikelove · 46-50, F
Same! My guilty pleasure is rom-coms too.
Love documentaries on mostly serial killers but anything really.
Drama, documentary, true crime, crime fiction, historical fiction.

@SW-User I haven’t seen Salt but I’m always on the lookout for new ones. I’ll check it out! I enjoyed Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy.

I have really wide ranging tastes, from realistic crime novels to Victorian fiction, to philosophy, to history, to modern fiction.
ChipmunkErnie · 70-79, M
These days, mystery with a touch of comedy seems my go to. But I like sci-fi, horror, Korean historical, and documentaries.
Beautyinbroken · 36-40, F
You think long legs is gonna live up to the hype ???
Beautyinbroken · 36-40, F
@Samek I just hope it's good but worried they hyping it up too much and it's gonna suck
Samek · 36-40, M
@Beautyinbroken I feel that. Have suffered a bit of this with videogames. These days I just avoid stuff about a project I'm interested in until it releases.
Beautyinbroken · 36-40, F
@Samek that's a good idea to do
Miram · 31-35, F
Same, science fiction , historical and certainly with a little spice of philosophy.
Samek · 36-40, M
@Miram Andy Weir's Project Hail Mary is a current favorite. Also enjoyed The Three Body Problem trilogy.

deadteddy · 26-30, F
Mystery , I like things that intrigue me.
Slow moving character pieces (often foreign films, they can be often enigmatic with their storytelling even in cinema.. and you have to look upon subtle elements that are often mirrors of culture)... I prefer them in literature, but damn my attention span has become wanting.
