I Was Paddled In High School

Paddling was an option when I was in school and I did everything in my power to avoid getting one. I knew if I went home in trouble I would get another spanking from my parents. I don't think consequences for one's actions is a bad thing because it made me the respectful person I am today,

During the time I went to high school, in the early 1970's, paddling was not an option--it was a sentence. Our principal was the one who had the option of giving the student detention or the paddle, depending on the crime. The fact that I asked him if I could take a paddling rather than serve detention was a very bold move on my part! But he reluctantly agreed and gave me six swats. I was spared detention, but my bottom was bruised for a week.
