Well... As a child and teen and even some adult years...never had internet. Played outdoors a lot...football, baseball, riding horse, sledding in winter, bike riding, spending time with friends, phone calls with phones that did that one job, plant gardens, work, raise children who also did those things. lol It was all based in the real world!

@SW-User Amen! I remember those days except for the sledding (southern boy) and I miss them.

@Coletracer I'm finding ways to still not be on internet much. Work is one that is taking a lot of time now. Free time is spent on other things unless it's too dark and late to do much else.

@SW-User Usually I'm either at my desk writing, on my tractor working, or out and about doing odd jobs. I'll stop in to check on friends in early mornings or late evenings for a few minutes, but on rainy days like this, I stop in for a while and spend more time. If I get bored, I go back to my writing.

@SW-User I can relate to that, as a kid, we found stuff to do, most of the time it was a family board game or project, conversation. Nobody was isolated in their own little electronic world.

@Stereoguy Yeah, and learned that if we told parents we were bored, they would find something for us to do, not as much fun as board games.

@SW-User As a kid we were out of the house by 8 and didn't come home until it was dark
You ride your bike everywhere you hung out at the local pond fishing went up to the local pool to swim great times

@Thereyouare For me it was dirt bike and hunting as well as fishing, the pool was too far away.
SW-User
@Thereyouare I would have loved fishing! :)

@SW-User There were a bunch of little ponds and creeks in the mountains, bass, panfish and crappie, trout, plenty of catfish. It was a good time growing up in WV where I grew up.

@Roadsterrider Sounds like a great time and place. :)
