What older people had to do before the internet.

Well... As a child and teen and even some adult years...never had internet. Played outdoors a lot...football, baseball, riding horse, sledding in winter, bike riding, spending time with friends, phone calls with phones that did that one job, plant gardens, work, raise children who also did those things. lol It was all based in the real world!

Whittling pieces of wood to make Christmas gifts and complaining how bad times were under Queen Victoria's reign.

Stare out the window and grumble about all the weird people who live in the neighborhood.

Sunday drives, visit a friend for a short while, gather flowers, pick berries, go for walks, window shop, sit in the back yard and enjoy the scenery & wildlife, read a book, crochet or knit, rearrange the living room, have lunch with a friend, take an afternoon nap, sit out on the front porch in the morning or evening and greet neighbors who might be passing by…all kinds of things

They made babies or practiced making them .

We made arrangements weeks in advance and kept them!! At weekends and evenibgs wealways knew where we'd find our pals!

we read books.

Internet saved my life. Imagine having to go out and be... pleasant...😖

I read a lot, and spent time at the library.

So much more real doing than virtual

Growing up we walked a lot, went n played in the park. Tennis, kickball etc. We climbed trees we were outside till dark.
I hadnt worked with a computer toll mid 80s...I hadnt had a home computer till 2000.
A cell till 98! And yes I miss that time.

It's total hypocrisy considering I'm using such technology, but I wish we would have stopped at dial up. Maybe even avoided it all together. I miss the days of wholesome fun and simplicity.
