Like yeah needles hurt, but your artist can use numbing cream if you need it, but most women can sit well for tattoos
Nah I've got two, one on each shoulder, I sat through it easily, the tattoo artist thanked me for not needing a break.
For me from memory it was like a constant bad sunburn touch, didn't hurt to me.
People love exaggerating how much tattoos hurt 🙄
Also my wife has two one around her chest and one on her armpit and she has a low pain threshold.

Nah. Just feels like a constant bee sting.
My biggest one took over two hours but he stopped often to check on me and to let me have a break. Honestly wasn’t too bad considering I’ve gone through three natural child births.

@PerfectionOfTheHeart but these things are reaaaally painful…

Depends on your pain tolerance.
Some think they hurt like crazy, others don't mind getting one at all. I'm one of the non-phased people and even struggled to stay awake for a couple of mine.
Also, it depends whereon your body you're getting it.
The thicker the skin, the less pain.
Also, if you really want one, but is unsure bc of of possible pain, there's numbing cream now.

Of course. But for me, it’s a good kind of pain. And no, not in a weird masochist kind of way, lol. But in a way that’s almost therapeutic. As for how badly it hurts, it depends on the tattoo placement. My first one was on my stomach, right below my chest and that didn’t hurt bad at all. But I also have several on both arms and whenever it goes over bone, that’s when it starts to hurt bad, lol.

I’m sleeved out with few on chest and back. Like other people have said, it only hurts for a little while. But there’s definitely some parts of the body that hurt more than others. Elbows. Inner upper arm. Definitely more-so the closer you get to your armpit.
NanciA · 46-50, F
@DrawntoaDistance I was thinking just below the bikini line
DrawntoaDistance · M
@NanciA yeah, I think that’ll be a tender spot for sure
Notsimilarreally · 31-35, F
For some more than others. It's the shading in that hurts more than the outline. If you get something small and dainty without a lot of space to it you probably wouldn't feel it much. But everyone it different
HiFiRaver · 18-21, M
It does hurt, but it can hurt more depending on where you get it. I don't love the feeling, but you do also get used to it. I only have two tattoos, both fairly small, but I could put up with the pain.

Depends my friend and I got eyeliners, she felt nothing while I was in so much pain I clung to my other two friends like I was giving birth to Frankenstein
Bowenw · 61-69, M
People who have them tell me they hurt, but it varies depending on where on the body they are placed. You should be brave and do it.
Kiesel · 56-60, M
The one I have wasn’t bad at all
I’ve heard one’s on the ribs aren’t super comfy

I believe it hurts to get tattoo removed, looks strange on old people, still they weren't always old.
thepeculiarpanda · 36-40, M
I have one on my chest and I don't recall it being overly painful. 🤔
NanciA · 46-50, F
Thanks for all your advice still a bit undecided but thanks
Sojournersoul · M
@NanciA You need to get it. 😉
forestgirl · 46-50, F
Stingy, but worth the pain. I have ink running the length of my back rolling over my shoulders to my front
bijouxbroussard · F
I have four, and it does depend on where. I’m told hands, feet, places where there’s less fat under the skin, tend to be most sensitive to needles.
ScreamingFox · 41-45, F
I enjoy them. The pain feels therapeutic to me
GnomeyGee · 41-45, M
Nah not really. My biggest one took 8 hrs and it just eventually went numb and I took a nap during.

Jenny1234 · 56-60, F
No it didn’t hurt but I’ve heard it depends on where you get it
ChiefJustWalks · 26-30

I don't do needles either that's why I don't have tattoos LOL
jackjones68 · M
It does hurt, and depending on where you have it, hurts more.
urbancowboy · M
I have two and neither one was painful
peterlee · M
Very wise.
Sojournersoul · M
Only painful for a bit.
MasterLee · 56-60, M
Totally pain free
stings a bit
QCDog2659 · 61-69, M
If I may ask...What would the tat represent, and where, on the beautiful canvas of your body, would the tat be placed?
TheBatQueen · 22-25, F
Yeah but not a lot
get a small one first, hurts a bit, but not for long
Anniedlr · 26-30, F
I have no interest in trying to find out.😂😂
DarthInvader · 36-40, M
Why? You want to tattoo my name on your arm?
What were you going to get?
NanciA · 46-50, F
@VeronicaJane Rose
HowtoDestroyAngels · 46-50, M
No it doesn't.

I got the word freedom printed on my upper back… it really hurt but it felt more like a workout than pain. I was moaning the whole time, the tattooist had a hard time😂 but it’s probably the place on my body that hurt the least because I was into surfing and you paddle for hours so the main point of effort is between the shoulder blades
