What are yall’s opinions on tattoos

Just wondering what everyone thinks
JessiN · 51-55, F
I would never allow it
@JessiN ha ha. bye, dumb ass.
JessiN · 51-55, F
@GabbySA8 Now don't you get cheeky too
ForesakenSoul · 46-50, M
@GabbySA8 Props. My homie Villian is married to a Nurse. Awesome people
I like them. I have them. I want more of them.
losthorizons · 51-55, M
@Pinkstarburst what do you have
Freeranger · M
People don't understand them...not in this age. For any of us who served in the military, your tat's told a story of your personal journey, experience, and your record.
The same should hold true for the civilian end. If I were to dispense anything, it would be that, like the military, they should have personal meaning....they should be about your journey. Your tat's should be totally, and uniquely yours. One of the worst mistakes to me is burying your skin under them. I have two tats, one that represents my time in the Gator Navy, and one reppin' my MOS in the Marine Corps. Everyone is different, but I think there's nuthin' worse than "over-tattin'. For cryin' out loud....keep it classy and minimalist. I'm not a full sleeve guy, I certainly don't like sleeves on women, but that's just my own preference and opinion which doesn't mean jack. I just know what I like. What I do like on women are the one's they place on their sides, and occasionally, upper thigh.

On a personal note, I had one I designed regarding my crossing the equator as a Golden Dragon. It was going to be joined with King Neptune from the upper crown of my right shoulder wrapping abound to my right rear shoulder, but when I cost factored.....and, I couldn't do it....at least not right now. Perhaps a bit later on. The two minimalist pieces I could do are my two swallows on either side of my chest depicting sea miles travelled. They are an ancient tradition. According to one legend, a sailor tattooed with one swallow had travelled over 5,000 nautical miles; a sailor with two swallows had travelled 10,000 nautical miles. Having exceeded that. my idea was to place a small number behind the swallows head depicting sea miles traveled.

TMI I suppose, but that's my take.
Peapod · 61-69, F
I personally have chosen to not have any, but can admire some that are beautifully done.

I do worry for some people that get heavily tattooed while young and attractive, knowing they may have regrets when they get older.
Peapod · 61-69, F
@GabbySA8 Staying in shape certainly helps, but very little stops the changes in your skin as you age. Wrinkles and thinning skin happens on more than one's face.
GabbySA8 · 18-21, F
@Peapod hopefully I get the skin from my black side then
Peapod · 61-69, F
@GabbySA8 Having great skin is a real asset. I never realized how true this is until I hit a certain age. I work-out and I am slim, but in my case, having no old tattoos on top of natural aging is a good thing.
I have two full arm tapestries and a full back tapestry, so I guess I like them. I also have close to twenty piercings.
GabbySA8 · 18-21, F
Yes! Thats gonna be so pretty@DarkHeaven
@GabbySA8 ty 😊
@GabbySA8 I’m sure that yours are beautiful too.
Fluffybull · F
I'd never have one myself but some tattoos are works of art.
BlueVeins · 22-25
Not my personal cup o' tea. I prefer the smooth, clean look of unaltered skin. Still, I respect those who like tattoos and think they shouldn't be stereotyped.
WaryWitchWandering · 36-40, F
I got some… I like them
Piper · 61-69, F
I think I understand why some people want to have them, and have admired the artistry or message of many. Other than that, my opinion on them is neutral.
I can appreciate the artistry and I don't not like people because they have tattoos, but I don't like the tattoos.
meJess · F
I enjoy them.

CrazyMusicLover · 31-35
I'm not a fan. I like the natural state of skin. I like body painting and henna that is temporary but permanent tattoo is too radical to me.
chrisCA · M
They are fine for others, but I don't have any interest in getting one.
GabbySA8 · 18-21, F
Thats the right attitude to have@chrisCA
I have four, discreetly positioned so clothing covers them unless I want a reveal.
@GabbySA8 That’s the only thing I think of with tattoos and piercings is that if they’re obvious they can limit your options, where you can work, etc. And back when I got mine, very few women had them.
GabbySA8 · 18-21, F
Im going into nursing, I have concealer I can use anyway@bijouxbroussard
@bijouxbroussard As long as I keep my upper body covered, I’m good. I do have to wear long sleeved shirts, though. If I want to hide them. And some of my piercings are kind of front and center, but it is what it is.
ravenwind43 · 51-55, F
Not into them personally but if someone has them I don't care :)
QueenOfTheNerds · 41-45, F
I love them. I have a couple, but would like more.
jasmineOTK · 41-45, F
If they're on you, I'm sure they're beautiful 😘
ShreksHouse · 56-60, M
Got my first at 52. Eagerly planning my next
summersong · F
I mean I have like 17 of them so obviously I’m a fan
Synyster · 51-55, M
I love them, I currently have seven.
GunFinger · F
I have some. I'm getting more done.
Justmeraeagain · 56-60, F
Pretty common place now, but not my cup of tea.
Don't think too much about them unless they're vulgar, then I wonder why anyone would do that and how deprived someone must be to not care who sees it.
Indifferent to them. I personally don’t have any. But tbats because I don’t trust anyone to not fuck up
I don't see tats as attractive, but I'd date someone with tats, bc its not important in any way.
SW-User
I have one and would like two more

I like them. Now all over ink no natural skin showing, I don’t like very much
vetguy1991 · 51-55, M
I don't have any myself but of someone wants one I say go for it
Jenny1234 · 51-55, F
I think they are okay but I wouldn’t want one on my body
Nelladell · 80-89, F
That they are permanent or else vast scars --
Tminus6453 · M
Dont like them, and never liked them on women
LocoYG · 18-21, M
That’s my homies forsakensoul
SW-User
On the upside they are art and some look great. However i don't like (for me) that they're permanent as i would change my mind at some point, so i'd only get one if it was a temporary one. Even video game characters i play i change their tattoo's regularly.
LocoYG · 18-21, M
And soon will have more
Enjoy my Ted Talk? *giggles*
GabbySA8 · 18-21, F
benJohnson99 · 18-21, M
@GabbySA8 I think they look ugly
Notanymore · 36-40, M
I can't find anyone to draw mine
GabbySA8 · 18-21, F
@Notanymore you go in, theyll draw it for you, then theyll tattoo you
Notanymore · 36-40, M
@GabbySA8 i understand that. But I don't kniw the exact design and I can't draw at all. I need a brainstorming session with a tattoo artist to come up with the details. And don't want to waste someone's business hours....may make a post on here.....
GabbySA8 · 18-21, F
@Notanymore very few artists expect you to come in with a pre drawn design, most actually dont like that, theyd rather do their own style
Unpopular Opinion you can feel free to disagree with:

I like them but only on guys, on girls it looks trashy to me.
GabbySA8 · 18-21, F
I strongly disagree, they do look good on guys though@Wallflow3r
@GabbySA8 Yeah it's hot when guy has a sleeve of tattoos i'll admit.
CM440 · 56-60, C
I have thirteen and everyone has a special meaning to me. I love the art, and the process of taking a thought and making it your own personal artwork.
BlueFan2022 · 22-25VIP
I don't have alot to say apart from there good and my only advice is take your time thinking about what you want don't rush into it.
BigBulge · 41-45, M
Pick one, and only one. Otherwise, you keep adding more and more until you look like wall paper.
HankStone · 61-69, M
I would never get one. But, if they're on a girl and she doesn't try to get creative or overdo it, they're okay.
WhateverWorks · 36-40
I like tattoos and plan to get more, but I also like to be able to hide them as needed

I'm not a fan, personally.
