Sadly, they tend to think that you are forced to wear your hijab rather than you're wearing it because you want to wear it.

It would be the same way if they saw someone wearing a burqa, too.

They feel perhaps that you are willingly accepting make oppression of women.
They want you to protest so that other women get the support to protest as well.
Point is - many do not see it as a willing desire to dress with a hijab or burka.
