That I just don't understand men's sock fashion. It is really okay to wear calf high black socks with baggy khaki pocket shorts? Woman sock fashion says, "curl up and die before you attempt that combo!" Does men's sock fashion give the thumbs up?

Just so they are clean and a close match......good enough. I have enough trouble trying to find the singles that the washing machine or dryer ate.

I wouldn’t do that. Although I do like to wear funky socks with my work shoes and pants.

But if I’m wearing shorts, it’s no shows or quarter socks.

I tend to wear trainer socks if wearing shorts, unless I have sliders or flip flops on, then it's a sock free environment.
