I need outfit help, and I want to give all the info

I’m going to a surprise birthday brunch on Sunday.
The person I’d usually ask is the birthday girl. It’s a nice restaurant, but not super fancy or anything. I know the group of people I’ll be with do tend to dress a bit nicer.
I’ve been shopping for this outfit like 3 times, and I’m frustrated at this point.
Here’s the option I want to work, BUT the coverup is bright white, and the rest of the outfit is cream/brown. The second person I asked said to wear this outfit, but I really don’t think it goes well together.
I am considering attempting to change the color of the cover up. Either with a clothing dye or even staining it with tea. But I don’t want to accidentally ruin it, and not be able to wear it at all.

When I asked my backup fashion person, she said I should wear this outfit: (ignore the stain on my bralette, I dug it out of my laundry hamper and I will wash it)

This to me feels too beachy or something? Also, I don’t mind having my arms, midriff, or legs on display when it’s like one of them, but this shows all 3 and I feel like maybe it’s too much.

I really don’t want to wear the white with the cream.
Do you think I should
-attempt to dye the coverup to some sort of off-white
-wear the white outfit
-scrap it all and try shopping again
I don’t have time to order something and not be worried it would show up on time.

I like the first one. The white is fine with the brown and cream.

@MsSwan I guess everyone thinks this but me lol
I like the first option as it is. The brown works well in contrast with the white.
itsok · 31-35, F
@HijabaDabbaDoo that’s what someone else told me, and I just don’t like it like that 😣
@itsok well, confidence works better above all else. You wear your clothes, they don't wear you. The other options aren't ugly. Dyeing it does like a risk tho.

I think the white and the cream go fine together it creates a nice layering effect.
itsok · 31-35, F
@CountScrofula everybody else thinks this 😩
CountScrofula · 41-45, M
@itsok YOU'RE OVERTHINKING IT
I actually like the first one, the brownish color compliments your skin tone and the white cover up gives it a bit dressier flare

@Bexsy I just really don’t like the bright white with the cream and brown. I think I’m the only one
@itsok if you don't like it and don't wear that one.Because you need to be comfortable and not feel self conscious
MrsRachelEvans · 31-35, F
The first looks good to me and less beach but vibes lol
Reject · 31-35, M
I have to throw my hat in with the popular vote. The first one is best in my opinion. It’s more visually interesting and the brown pattern on the bottom accents the top nicely too.
itsok · 31-35, F
@Reject ok, thank you
Reject · 31-35, M
@itsok Anytime! I loved seeing your fashion! It looks really nice and makes me a little self conscious of how little effort I put into mine. 😂
itsok · 31-35, F
@Reject I enjoy it! I know plenty of people who just don’t have an interest in it, and I think that’s completely fine.
I don’t want people comparing themselves to me in that way, whether it’s negative or positive 😅

I like the 1st option the best. The cream / brown contrast with the white is perfect and has a more dressier feel to it.
itsok · 31-35, F
@tenente you and everyone else 🥹
I missed it
I'm sure whatever you picked looks fantastic on you

@itsok I missed it too.. show us again!!!:D

@itsok okay have you tried everything to remove that stain ? like rub it carefully with chlorine ...?

I like both outfits!

The brown one somehow brings me medieval vibe and I am into it:D

The white is more classy and aerie but the stain is there. Others have said to ignore the stain, but I am a Virgo lol I can see it!!!!

thank you for sharing I wanted to see it ☺
itsok · 31-35, F
ALRIGHT I’M WEARING THE FIRST OUTFIT
Reject · 31-35, M
@itsok Think of us when you go to the party!
itsok · 31-35, F
@Reject 🫡
TheHammer · M
You have a back up fashion person?
itsok · 31-35, F
@TheHammer I have my usual person I ask, but it’s her surprise party
I asked my backup who said do the white outfit.
Then I asked another who said do the first outfit.
I have a third I can ask, but he would tell my backup that I asked, and I don’t want to hurt her feelings
TheHammer · M
@itsok
I get it.
I misunderstood. I thought you actually have a fashion person hired. And on top of that a back up fashion person.
I was like who is this Celine Dion?
My fault..
itsok · 31-35, F
@TheHammer oh no, just friends who enjoy fashion
GoFish ·
soak it in coffee then if its too white for you lol
GoFish ·
@itsok coffee is darker put it in a flat Tupperware or something so it soaks evenly and it wont be patchy if it's not globed up together.. if you want to dye it that is..
itsok · 31-35, F
@GoFish I don’t know if coffee would get it the right color. The browns in the tank top and skirt are very orangey-brown.
And also, you know how sometimes when you dye something, sometimes the trim or certain parts of it don’t soak up color? I don’t want that to happen
GoFish ·
@itsok ok
JRVanguard · 26-30, M
I didn’t see it but I’m gonna go with the second option to be different
itsok · 31-35, F
@JRVanguard I asked my friend at the gym this evening and she said the second option!!!!
JRVanguard · 26-30, M
@itsok I’m a genius
Seems like I'm too late to judge, but I hope you've got the answer in the meantime. 😅
itsok · 31-35, F
Ferric67 · M
you asked for opinions, but deleted the objective
I can't help you
sorry
itsok · 31-35, F
@Ferric67 I asked many hours ago, and everyone had the same answer
As usual, I missed the action, unless you are implying you're wearing nothing at all.
You deleted all the options. I'll try not to read into that.
