Did you ask him how he would really like to see you dressed?

JJBarista · 22-25, F
Be yourself. express your fashion. If you can do it in a way with an accessory like a shawl or scarf to keep the holiday peace then lovely but be true to you as well
My Grandfather was Pretty good with female fashion. He would get me some cute fem clothes to wear.
HumanEarth · 56-60, M
Not my side of the family, now my wife side.

They all would buy me stuff from the ladies side of the department store.
Louis54 · 61-69, M
We grandfathers know very little about female fashion, but some of us have the sense to shut up.
OliRos · 18-21, F
That doesn't seem very fair.
ArtieKat · M
@OliRos But you didn't turn up at your parents' work-related Christmas buffet in your jeans and Converse, did you, Olivia? Context is all!
OliRos · 18-21, F
@ArtieKat 😲 I so did! Under my gown!
Like when my mom says "wear this outfit" because she wants me to look my best for whatever the occasion is. I'm more comfortable in jeans.
HumanEarth · 56-60, M
Your Grandpa older then me

Are the Jeans skin tight and sweater skin tight?

He was most likely born in the 1950s or early 1960s. He ideas are way different than yours.

Depending on his age, sometimes you might have to bite your tongue. Who knows how many years left you may have left to spend with them?

I'll give you an example

I'm a crossdresser and been doing for decades. But I won't let me great aunt and uncle find out. Their both in their late 90s and I want to keep the peace.

They believe in old values and old ways and no amount of talking would change their minds. Plus they would stop talking to me and cut off all ties with me.

They would believe I was possessed by the Devil and I was going straight to hell.

So sometimes instead of fighting, sometimes compromising without them knowing is sometimes the easier battle

Just food for thought

As long as it doesn't lead to any consequences, I suppose you should smile and say 'Of course, Grandpa'.
pdockal · 56-60, M
What does he expect you to wear ?????
HumanEarth · 56-60, M
Most likely 1950s style of clothing
Strict4u · 56-60, M
Sounds like he is very strict
tindrummer · M
I mostly leave it up to my daughter and nieces unless their choices are way out in left field.
exexec · 61-69, C
My granddaughters know to never listen to my comments on their clothing, such as the holes in their jeans.
Theyitis · 36-40, M
Seems odd. Does he think ladies should always wear dresses or skirts? And what’s wrong with the sweater?
Arent you old enough to not worry about paw paws opinion on your clothes
Louis54 · 61-69, M
How did it end? Did you have a nice Christmas despite everything?
dale74 · M
What did it look like or does he just like girls in dresses
Maybe he’s old fashioned
@TexasOutlawTrey Maybe he passes out to the sight of exposed ankles.
Paddleboarding · 41-45, M
Show him what’s not lady like with a short skirt
Daviszabecki · 56-60, M
Is there anything wrong with ‘ladylike’? Really?
Uncannyoak · M
Why not post a pic of it
hedleylamar · 41-45, M
What's on it?
Can we chat?
Confined · 56-60, M
ViciDraco · 36-40, M
Sounds like he's six decades behind the times
swirlie · 31-35, F
Always dress for yourself, not someone else.
Your grandfather needs to chill.
