@Punxi That's from the 20's👍
Zoot Suits go back a lot farther than people think.
Here’s Cab Calloway during the Harlem Renaissance, long before the "Zoot Suit Riots" of Los Angeles in the 1940s
Like these guys!

Magenta · F
At least back to something that were actually (tasteful) clothes, versus ultra tight leggings and yoga pants.
Thodsis · 51-55, M
Cheap purple shell-suits bought from 'Tracy Fashions' on the market.

Accesorised with a pack of 10 Silk Cut and an angry boyfriend...
@Thodsis

You sound like you know your stuff... I haven't a clue!
craig7 · 70-79, M

The Top Hat and tie would be nice.

Tyin' up my white tie
Brushin' off my tails

I'm dudein' up my shirt front
Puttin' in the shirt studs
Polishin' my nails

@rinkydinkydoink Me, Halloween several years ago. The clothing belonged to my great-aunt, from the 1940s.
@bijouxbroussard

I recall your telling me you don't use your own photo as an SW av because of all the unwanted attention.

Now I can see why.
@rinkydinkydoink I didn’t mean it like that; sometimes there was negative attention. I’ll probably take it down, but I remember how elegant she was; she left me a trunk of her clothes, and hats (which she made herself).
calicuz · 56-60, M
Hell yeah!!! 😎
@DancingStarGoddess

2 of the guys in the double-breasted jackets have those buttoned on the non-traditional side. Any reason in particular do you suppose?
@rinkydinkydoink To my knowledge it was kind it about individualism and a nod to being outside of "the general system" but I could be wrong, but I kind of like the idea. The whole style is meant to be more about that.
@DancingStarGoddess

My thoughts, too - the opportunity to individualize cannot be passed up.
Elessar · 31-35, M
Neo's jacket in the Matrix movies
Thodsis · 51-55, M
@Elessar Isn't that a persistent one? Usually topped off with a fedora...
Nanori · F
@Elessar I have a leather jacket that long but I'm never brave enough to wear it 🫠
Elessar · 31-35, M
@Thodsis Not here
@badminton

Either his head is really big or her head is really tiny...
