Changing customs. I wore a tie to work every day, except casual Fridays, and even then jeans were not acceptable. We were taught to wear our best to church out of respect for God, and that meant a suit/sport coat if you had it or your best bib overalls if that's all you had. I rarely wear a tie now, even to church, but I still refuse to wear jeans to church, weddings, or funerals. Some men wore shorts to a funeral I attended Saturday. That is just disrespectful.

Never worn one even for job interviews. I've also never been to a wedding or had one of my own. Having said that, Kingsman did a good job of showing how traditional formal male attire can be fashionable.

Probably cost, uncomfortableness and changing culture
out dated traditions..
