Thing about "loose" black clothing is it makes its own air conditioning in really hot weather. Yet it must be very loose. Tight black clothes simply don't have any room for air to move.
Sir Lawrence of Arabia supposedly wore a black loose robe BTW.

@DeWayfarer i can second this from experience .
I used to be a ground's keeper, out all day in the sun.
And i experimented with this concept, not believing it.
Its true, but....it depends upon a breeze of at least 3kph.
And the clothing must be vented or loose.
It truly holds up. I had some shirts, same make , same style, one pale beige , one black - and the black one qas cooler . I was officially amazed.

@OogieBoogie high winds often occur in hot weather here. I live in a semi desert. This last year it got to 116° f 46.67°c.
