What are your ideas about luxury watches?

Nothing to be honest, a $250 watch is just as good

Watches are outdated. People use their cell phones to tell the time, so they really don't need to wear a watch. Luxury watches are just status symbols now, that say, "See? I have a lot of money and I wasted it."

Unnecessary - their time has passed.

Nice to own. But they were given as gifts, I wouldnt have bought them. But I wouldnt wear some of mine out. I have a nice Omega that isnt too flashy I wear sometimes. But the idea of losing that much off your wrist is horrifying. On balance I wouldnt bother.

They can be a status symbol in some circles, of course. Some people collect them as a hobby, like some people collect stamps, coins, art or classic cars. They can have personal or sentimental value like rings or other objects. Nobody needs one for daily life.

As pieces of the Engineer's 'art' i suppose they are what they are.

Of more interest to me is the Pocket watch.

Some of those go back to the 1500's and considering the methods of engineering at the time, they truly ARE works of art !

They are status symbols that may be needed by some in certain circumstances

I wear hiking watches which aren't stainless steel so they last for years especially when washing and sanitizing my hands for eight hours a day. They cost about $30 each. And I replace the batteries as needed. My son has some luxury watches. They look cool. I cannot wear things like that as I possess too much electricity in me and they stop running. And they irritate my skin.

They're a waste of money IMO

I'm sporting a TIMEX IndiGlo that's likely on its 7th or 8th leather replacement strap.

I wouldn't put my own money into a luxury watch, and I wear one every minute.

The Apple Watch is as luxurious as I would get.

I never look at a women's watch unless it's tech.
