Why are socks sold in packs of 6 PAIRS?

Is that not the most useless number of socks to purchase at a time?

Where do you buy them in packs of 6? Most I get in a packet is 3 pairs

Well I still haven't seen a pack of 6 pairs of socks. Maybe we shop at different places or just get different kind of socks. @33person

@Thevy29 It's quite likely. But I guess when they sell them in packs of 3, you ought to get 3 packs.
