Can't believe I actually unironically used to be attracted to anime/cartoon girls...

TL;DR If the rest is too long, to be fair I was very young when I used to be attracted to anime/cartoon girls...like 12 to 13 at the most. But it still seems so ridiculous, considering anime/cartoon girls are completely hand drawn or computer generated, and are 100% not real and can't be touched or anything.

To be fair, this was mostly just when I was a kid...like up to my pre-teen years/early teen years max...like around ages 12 to 13 maximum, but not beyond that...but it's kind of hard to imagine why I was unironically attracted to anime/cartoon girls...

A reason I can think of is I often used anime/cartoons as an escape from reality, and during my pre-teen years/early teen years when puberty started I just sort of clung to anime/cartoons for a little while longer since it was familiar and fit in with my escape from reality...but I'm not 100% sure that's the reason.

Now though...it's not like I find anime/cartoon girls grotesque or anything, but it's just kind of hard to be attracted to something I KNOW is hand drawn or computer generated. Like...how would that even work physically? How can I have sex with something that doesn't exist?

Not only that though, but anime/cartoon girls often have really unrealistic, simplified, and exaggerated proportions...that sort of appearance just wouldn't work in real life.

EVEN if the anime/cartoon girls were a semi-realistic style though, there's still the problem that it's hand drawn or computer generated and therefore not real.

I like a woman I can physically touch and cuddle with and hug and everything. I like to feel the softness of her skin. The warmth of her body. The silky texture of her hair. Can't do that with anime/cartoons, can you?

Also, don't get me started on those anime/cartoon girl body pillows or sex dolls or whatever...I will never stoop THAT low. Anime/cartoon girls are NOT real, and a body pillow or sex doll won't suddenly make them real!

Body pillows seem like a gag gift almost. I get the attraction part, I do, most drawings are meant to stimulate that part of the brain, but you gotta remember to keep fantasy and reality separate.

@thenormalkindofcrazy Very well said! The attraction part makes sense as a lot of anime/cartoon characters try to replicate features we often find attractive in real people. The most common example of this that most people probably see is the superhero comics where they always make the female superheroes wear tight, skimpy clothing, and make them really curvy (the illustrators probably drew them with only one hand...LOL)...and a lot of the human characters in Disney and Pixar films are not bad looking either, though not as sexually provocative as the superheroes since the superheroes are aimed at an older audience compared to Disney/Pixar stuff.

But like you said...you gotta know the difference between fantasy and reality. It's common sense and SHOULD be common sense...but unfortunately A LOT of people still lack that common sense, somehow...evolution probably would've wiped these people out if it wasn't for today's safe environment compared to the much more dangerous environment in the past. 馃槄馃槗

True but credit where it's due, some of those (both 2d and 3d) have insanely good animation/modelling/detail. It might not get you off but a respecful nod to the talent and quality alone.

@bugeye Um yeah...can't really argue with that I guess. Heck, there was one example I came across...this game called Horizon Forbidden West, with this female protagonist character named Aloy, where they even gave her detailed convincing peach fuzz. Like it's so real it doesn't even look like video game animation anymore. And it was released in only 2022! Imagine how real it'd be if it was released 10 years from when it was, like 2032?
