A few years later

This is perhaps my longest run on social media.

Hi, I'm Roy.
Roy Razdan.
36.

At a certain stage in life, you look back and wonder where time flew away.
You're still you.
But the mirror reminds you of your diminishing youth, and the unstoppable old age.
Your body starts slowing down, and you have to put more effort into maintaining it.

Never thought I'd be 36 one day.
Never planned for it.
Yet here I am.
New Year's resolutions or not - the months quickly pass by. And each New Year's eve is a blueprint for all your accomplishments.

Over 800 posts and I can't help but cringe at some of the things I've written here.
But it's a good reminder that perhaps I'm better off now than I was back then.

Why was I here?
Why'd I stay for so long? And why'd I fade away into non-existence?

There's a lot of people who do things on a whim.
Could I be one of them?

Not much has changed here that I see.
The quality of posts haven't improved; neither have the people.
This is a good place to stop by if you want to waste some time.
But this isn't home.
If you're looking for philosophical discussions, they ain't here.
If you're looking for technological discussions, they ain't here.
If you're looking to chat about your hobbies and interests, well, unless it's degen3rate s3x, it ain't here.
This isn't a dating site. You won't find emotional connections here.
This isn't an advlt content site. You won't find f^ppable material here.
This isn't even a place you can make friends. Friendships of convenience. And are some of the people here the kind you want to be associated with in real life?
Are they?
👀 ARE THEY?

The quality of people will dictate the quality of content.
So, with your precious clock ticking away, are these the people you want to waste your time with?

What does popularity of posts mean when the bar has been set so low?

Never mind. Forget all about it.
Focus on yourself.
You.
Here you are, with a limited amount of time, and a bunch of dreams and wish lists.
What are you going to do about it?
Are you going to come here, doomscroll your precious life away, and engage in useless banter that goes nowhere?
If you're over 40, I understand. At a certain point, life slows down, and you stop chasing your dreams. Maybe 40 was the final nail for you. You've lost hope, you focus on surviving. This is the perfect place for that. You just want to get through the day and you need a distraction. This is it.

You'll never achieve your full potential if you're surrounded by folks who got no aspirations.
Losers will drag you down.
It brings some people great satisfaction knowing that they better off than you. The majority of them will facilitate keeping you down there.
Social media is a terrible place to seek motivation when most of the content is geared towards making you a lazy slob.
How does that happen? Fake complements, over-inflating egos and a false sense of importance.
You ain't sh!t. But the constant attention and reactions from everyone make you feel like you're the queen of the world.
This dopamine-driven addiction makes the real world much less attractive. You spend all your time on social media, scrolling people's stuff and imitating it.
Is this how you want to spend your life?
How would you identify someone special when everyone's posting the same stuff?
How can you be different if you're copying everyone else?
How can anyone value you when there's a billion people just like you out there?

People spend so much time on social media that they stopped being themselves and adopted other people's personalities and characters.
If you're not you, if you spend all your time trying to be like someone else, how will you ever be happy?

Everyday I see people doomscrolling on their phones.
Families, friends, couples, singles... everyone's got their eyes glued to their phones. Surrounded by each other, yet focused on the fake lives and manufactured illusions on social media.

Everyone wants to be special. Everyone wants to be the queen. Everyone wants to be praised and admired and flattered with complements and treated like royalty.
But can everyone be special?
There's only one way to find out.
And it ain't by imitation and copying others.

You need to extract yourself from the crowd of losers, go out there in the real world, explore your options, make some choices, discover your true potential, and put your ^ss to work.

It's amazing how much one can accomplish with the time they spend away from this sinkhole.

Wow, so candid and accurate.

The quality here is in the gutter now.
Do you think low mentality people know they are?
