I might just stop trying to be friends with people

They always leave in the end, and the effort never feels reciprocated after the very beginning. If they don't want to know, then there's no point trying. If a work relationship is what they want, then I just have to be ok with that because trying to force it like I am now is just making things worse.

This is what I get for hoping.

We start a lot of our most meaningful relationships knowing they will end in our lifetime (parents, pets, friends...).

I know that doesn't make it easier, but so many things in life end before we want them to.

And sometimes, that makes these little bits and pieces in our lives mean even more. 💙

@caccoon thanks for your kind words. It means a lot. It's like there's a giant hole in my life that's only getting worse, and there's nothing I can do to make it better.

Me too. I am too honest to have friends. I refuse to tell coddling, unhelpful lies to keep them.

Most people are completely useless - but maybe don't give up fully as 1 out of every couple of million or so aren't that bad.

I feel the same way
