A "bed-in" is a form of nonviolent protest, famously started by John Lennon and Yoko Ono during their honeymoon in 1969, where they stayed in bed to promote peace, inviting media to their hotel rooms to spread their anti-war message. The term also refers to the engineering practice of fitting parts together accurately, or more generally, the process of something settling in, like new players on a team.
