People, people... It is OK to be happy that someone's dead, it doesn't mean you indulge violence. It just means that you have a rational head on your shoulders, if the guy was a little shit.

I don't think it's a good thing. That said, I'm very aware that a lot of the people incensed by it have called for the death of political figures or people they disagree with before. It happens to one of theirs, so they're reacting strongly. But go on X any random day and you'll see tons of death threats directed at various people. Now it actually happens for real and suddenly online rhetoric matters. Why didn't it matter before? Why is it normal to wish death on people you disagree with? I was watching a video from a political streamer I like and he was sharing that he gets people threatening to kill him every single day and he accepts it as part of the job. It's sick that it has to be that way.

I think we should all stop talking so lightly of violence and death, even if it involves someone we didn't like.
