No president is a dictator (despite what Trump thinks.) We have a system of checks and balances, with 3 seperate, co-equal branches of government, executive, legislative and judical, each acting as a check on the others.

The president takes an oath to protect and defend the constitution. The president is required to follow the limits set by the constitution.

Sure, but that only matters if the people in charge care about the Constitution. Trump has already said the Constitution can be ignored, so that's what the Republicans are going to do.

@badminton Depends what you mean by "legitimate." When Trump and Vance are sworn in, they will legitimately be president and veep. But if Republicans control all three government branches, there's no way to force them to follow the Constitution.
