Have you ever met or seen someone who is famous?

@Carla

I could never see you on a post unless I went offline. Maybe it was a glitch?
Anyway we're friends now. The way it should be 😀

@Carla wow! That sounds like a really fun job!
There are several. I'll pick this one. As a teen, I did work for a local paper as a freelance photog, and was assigned a photo shoot with Michael Lee Aday, better known as Meatloaf. Accompanied him and his band on a golf outing.

Barack Obama. I was working for a local Democratic organization in an important part of a swing state in 2008 so this was before he was president.

Al Michaels once asked me directions on a street in a Chicago suburb.
Saw Kate Jackson (Charlie's Angels) at a bar once.

Yes, the singer Jimmy Dean, one afternoon in a local grocery store store . He was promoting his sausage. Windy Harrelson on a plane. He was getting something from his carryon in the overhead bin as I was walking to the bathroom. He gave me a “don’t tell”
Kind of look and I kept quiet. It was on a Southwest flight from L.A. so no first class. And Dr. Phil at Washington Dulles airport while waiting for a flight home. On a British Airlines flight from Morocco to London I sat next to Jane Goodall.
ProfessorPlum77 · 70-79, MVIP
@cherokeepatti Jimmy Dean was promoting "his sausage?" 😳
Have you been 🍸, again? 🤓
cherokeepatti · 61-69, F
@ProfessorPlum77 Jimmy Dean Sausage. He’s been dead a long, long time but they still play that commercial with him speaking in it.
ProfessorPlum77 · 70-79, MVIP
@cherokeepatti [c=002673]Yes, I have heard of his brand. [/c]

Yes. I’ve seen many actors who are in tv shows in the UK. Ones that are usually catered for older people though like Midsummer Murders and shows like that. Ed Sheeran who lived in a town in Suffolk about 30 miles from me is known by a friend of a friend. Bill Nighy apparently owns a house on the coast here in Aldeburgh. Charlie from McBusted great Uncle later bought my parents house. My parents went to the uncles funeral when he died a few years later and Charlie was there at the funeral. Charlie even visited the house when his uncle was still alive.

@SW-User You must be pretty close to me. I live about 30 miles from that town in Suffolk as well.

I was asking someone in NYC how to find a certain restaurant when someone in back of me gave me directions. It was Keanu.
CrazyMusicLover · 31-35
Nobody hardcore famous but someone close to me is getting known because of appearing on TV and radio.
Then I know a guy who became an actor, got a role in a show that had huge promo and apparently great viewership since they're planning another season.

Working in a restaurant in Cape Town in a shopping mall, I stepped out on a break and almost ran into Michael Jackson and entourage. Cue me freezing and saying “hi”. He said hi as well and I hurried on…
Rhode57 · 56-60, M
Yes quite a few times mainly through the work I did as a removal man of a large firm in London where many celebs live .
ravenhill · M
no, there's nobody and i'm glad because i don't wish to know anyone famous, they're all fake assclowns now.
I met Germaine Greer at the local markets once.
Yes, casually exiting a hotel; and a few at events.

I used to work in NYC for a major network, so yes. Harry Connick's short-lived show was done where I worked, got to say hi to him once. Also walked past Chris Rock, Adam Sandler, Laurence Fishburne, Beyonce, and Mariah Carey. Met Robert Plant, Roger Daltrey, John Goodman, and many many others just walking around.
