Yes if I had money like that I would help people with micro loans so they could start a business and keep creating wealth for themselves. World Neighbors does this in various countries. I would do it here in the USA too and when they repay the loan the money would be used for more micro loans for others. When you help people work for themselves it helps get them out of poverty. Also would create tiny home communities so that people could have an affordable place to live without having to pay a fortune in utility bills every month. The communities would have gardens to grow food, fruit trees and a community building to gather to have community meetings, to hold potlucks or as a place to celebrate something, to hold craft sales, swap meets & community garage sales for the residents to be able to make a little money. One reason people are becoming homeless here in my area is because they aren’t finding affordable apartments. Even tiny efficiency apartments are going for $750 and there aren’t enough of those to go around around.
@cherokeepatti Wow! now you're talking. you have thought about this alot and i am happy to read that there are other people in this world that see the homeless situation in a more rational light than someone you have to step over to get to your favorite restaurant. I hope you get very very rich and can make this a possibility

@DIABLISS I don’t know if I’ll ever get rich but if I did I’d help those who are willing to help themselves by working and getting their life in order. The ones who’s lives spiral out of control due to situations beyond their control. I worked with a woman who hurt her back at her job (Walmart, she was a cashier). She was waiting for disability to kick in but it took 2 long years before she got her money. She had a grown son she was living with who had a job, he couldn’t afford to pay rent, bills & buy groceries all by himself and they ended up homeless living in her car. Said sometimes people would take them in but it wouldn’t last more than a few days each time so they were moving around a lot. Someone like her would be perfect candidates for a tiny home to help keep the bills low other help. She finally got her back pay and they got into an apartment and she is getting a money check. She looked like she was having nervous problems, smoking heavily and she was nothing like that when I knew her before her injury. Also some older retired people could benefit from tiny homes, they don’t need a regular size home to live in by themselves and to have to maintain and pay high utilities for.
@cherokeepatti it is sad that people like us never get rich...just evil people

@DIABLISS don’t mind so much not getting “rich”. But the thing is the system is stacked against the little people to keep them down even when they work hard and are determined. Work hard, get taxed with one tax or fee after another and those taxes don’t always benefit us like they are supposed to. There needs to be a better way and I have read there is a plan for undoing this system and replacing it with something that is much more fair to all. Rules and regulations that put roadblocks in front of those who don’t own corporations for example need to be overturned.

@DIABLISS Two things that have hurt people and kept them from buying homes when they are young are the layers of taxes that take away from their buying power and interest on loans that cause them to have to repay loans. Most of that money on loans is just paying interest and not paying off the principal. This could be stopped by having money backed by precious metals instead of being created out of thin air.
@cherokeepatti i know it. There shouldn't be taxes on people of a certain tax bracket but it should be different every year so that they don't try to stay under that. If they own a home, they pay taxes. if they own a business, they pay taxes. but lower brackets should pay a smaller percentage than higher brackets. problem is that the higher bracketed people have lawyers that get them out of that. that shouldn't be allowed either. unless they have a charity where the money goes instead.

@DIABLISS If they own a corporation or business they can write off a lot of things as expenses whereas the lower income people just pay for it with no tax write-offs. The three-martini lunches was a stereotypical write-off, steak dinners in restaurants to entertain a potential business client or whatever written off as business promotion. Many, many more examples that I won’t attempt to list. Having to pay property taxes for life means you never really own your property if you can lose it for not being able to dig up those taxes. There are fairer ways to pay for government expenses and it also involves cutting the fat and pork barrel projects.
@cherokeepatti life is so unfair

@DIABLISS I believe that the system will change for the better. Tax system will be on goods, not on labor or services. Some necessities that even low-income people will need such as groceries, garden supplies, and good used items won’t be taxed either. Federal taxes will go back to the states and anything the government needs to spend money on will come from taxes on goods. The system will be good for the environment because more will be motivated to recycle or upcycle their things or sell to others who need them.
@cherokeepatti i wish i had your glass in front of me. yours seems to be half full and mine is half empty. I think things are gonna get much worse. we are evolving back to a time when it was dangerous if you weren't a middle aged white American male. I have always thought that the world was gonna end in 2034. i don't know why i always dreamt it was that year, but i do. i knew the pandemic was coming long before it happened and i knew that when i watched the Chinese on the news concerning their "Yet another illness" that it was "gonna be real bad".
I worry more about this particular war with Russia and Afghanistan because of the catalyst that it is becoming. it isn't just another one of those tiny wars that "those people" are having over there. We should have been involved personally from the get go.
