When i was in the service, 1970-72, i worked in a class 1 dispensary. That was before ultrasounds. A woman delivered a baby and the OB noticed she still looked pregnant. I was the only pediatrician at the time and he called for me stat. I stabilized that baby and ran it to the nursery, passing by the father. He asked how the baby and mother were. I said, just fine, but i need to rush. He looked stunned. Back into the delivery and tte OB was deliverring another baby. Repeat running to the nursery. Again dad asked, i said we will talk soon. Another baby and finally we were done. It was the talk of the Navy base.
