Breastfeeding after one year?

How many moms out there continued to breastfeed after a year? My twins were born almost a year ago. I never intended to breastfeed for so long but for for a couple of reasons I'm thinking I would like to continue. I've had problems with traditional breastfeeding and have been doing mostly bottle feeding. But as my twins get bigger, I think I will be more successful with regular breastfeeding. I would eventually like that bond. So I'm thinking of continuing. Any pros or cons to this?

Some increased risk of dental decay from delayed weaning.
@samueltyler2 delayed?

@Roundandroundwego the longer after a year the greater the risk. It is worse when the baby isnt weaned from the bottle
@samueltyler2 that's a bottle, obviously, not the real thing. Putting humanity in the animal kingdom instead of your market for products, people might nurse babies until kindergarten. Cultural practices can be harsh and antisocial.

@Roundandroundwego it isn't as much the vehicle as putting the child down to sleep with milk in their mouths.
@samueltyler2 people don't nurse a three year old to sleep - they're getting a drink and moving away. People with no more emotion to give a baby will use a bottle for that - they're also known to shut the kid in a bedroom and let them scream until they stop. It's not necessary, just customary!

@Roundandroundwego I am speaking from my experience as a former pediatrician. Sometimes I heard and saw a child say.to its mother I want to nurse.
@samueltyler2 my kid just said ",titty". She was four when she stopped nursing. My friends and I strongly believe in letting them decide when to nurse or drink titty, and when to stop. Around age four or five, they stopped. We didn't limit their food after that, we took full responsibility for offering them foods we believed in, and not buying stuff in crinkly wrapping, ever. We believe in food, too. My daughter weened to strawberry Hagen daas, back when it was really good, then she seemed to need egg custard, then she was done.
