Breastfeeding after one year?

How many moms out there continued to breastfeed after a year? My twins were born almost a year ago. I never intended to breastfeed for so long but for for a couple of reasons I'm thinking I would like to continue. I've had problems with traditional breastfeeding and have been doing mostly bottle feeding. But as my twins get bigger, I think I will be more successful with regular breastfeeding. I would eventually like that bond. So I'm thinking of continuing. Any pros or cons to this?

Forgive me butting in as a male, but the medical advice is that you can breast feed for up to two years, or even longer. It's important to introduce other foods after six months, but to continue breast feeding alongside the other foods is great. There is a bonding benefit to breast feeding, as well as providing antibodies, so if that's your desire, Heather, then go for it. It's all good 😊

@Richard65 Yes, all that is true. That's why I want to pursue it. I was hoping to get some other moms to respond here.

@HeatherFlorida I understand, hopefully some will reply to you. I'm glad things are going well for you all. Best wishes, Heather.

It's not all good, Richard. Enabling is bad, both for mother as well as for the child. It's not wrong to butt in even if you are a male. Sometimes, father knows best when mom is out to lunch.

@sree251 I've no idea what you're talking about.

I've no idea what you're talking about.

I know, and that's why I commented on your post. Feel good advice from a man on women's affairs is not good.

@sree251 I've still got no idea what you're talking about.

Let it rest, Richard.

@sree251 you started this nonsense. Jog on.

Nonsense is right. It comes from men who have no business sticking their noses into women's stuff. It's the kind of men who have a need to get involve with mothering.

@sree251 you have no business sticking your nose in this.
The irony.

I am not into mothering. Why are you here?

@sree251 you're not into mothering? Then the question is why are YOU here?
What are you, admin? 🙄

No, I am not admin. My reason for being here is a concern for the healthy development of the kids.

Why are you here?
Richard65 · M
@sree251 just to annoy you.

Don't lie. I caught you flat footed. Now, that you are here, let's talk about your type: men who are not quite men.
Richard65 · M
@sree251 you're funny. You're too bonkers to even be offensive.
@Richard65 I looked into that too, I still bottle fed my twins for another six months after getting them off the nipples.
Richard65 · M
@AllycatAD I think that's great, breast is definitely best! 😊
The bonding aspect is invaluable too. Though my friend found she was unable to breast feed, and always regretted that, even though it wasn't her fault.
Do you mean you bottle fed with breast milk or formula?
@Richard65 breast milk
Richard65 · M
@AllycatAD I was bottle fed, so I never had the pleasure. I've never tasted it. Thanks for replying.
