The cost of IVF?

I was thinking that an IVF treatment would be mildly expensive?
How many attempt does the initial payment cover?
Surely a minimum of two implantations, 4, 5?
Would it not be to the treating doctor's advantage if several attempts failed?
The more treatments, the more money it would cost.
Has any sweep had a successful IVF treatment?

My ex and I had to pay every cent. No insurance cover and no government subsidies. 4 IVF cycles did not work..went up to egg donor. Last of four attempts worked. but it ruined my relationship with her and she rejected me when she found out she was finally pregnant. I stayed until a yr after birth and left to end dv and abuse at me and our daughter.

@Gusman because she wanted a baby very badly and decided to treat my as just a sperm donor and money source she's a narcissist control freak but relationship was very good until the IVF stuff caused arguments because of the cost. We started trying early 2016 and it took a full year to be successful at the last fertilised donor egg

@zonavar68 Sad, did you have enough personal finances to start again without being under too much financial stress?

@Gusman I had some savings that were all used to set up renting my own house. Ex owns her place outright. I have a room here for my daughter when she stays over

This depends on IVF clinic and also a country a woman undergoes treatment. U.S. gets the highest success rates but IVF is the most expensive here. In Europe, IVF clinics in Spain and Cyprus get good success rates and treatment cost approx. EUR5,000 - 7,000 with them. While Czech and Polish clinics that also get high success rates offer top-notch treatment priced approx. EUR3,000 - 3,500. Cost of IVF is one of the reasons why international patients visit Europe and other countries to undergo treatment. More than that some couples need to combine IVF with PGS NGS, or donor sperm or eggs, or have multiple attempts that increase the final price. If you wish to compare prices, you can use sites comparing costs in Europe and in the world. I often refer to fertilityclinicsabroad and ferilityroad, and from my experience they update prices of IVF clinics on a regular basis.

A lot goes into in vitro fertilization. From egg collection, unfreezing sperm, combining the two, to checking the recipients womb can hold the zygote.

Just even one implantation costs a lot of money.

According to the American Society of Reproductive Medicine, the average cost for one in vitro fertilization (IVF) cycle is more than $12,000. 1 However, prices vary significantly and basic IVF can be as much as $25,000 or may be as low as $10,000. It's rarely lower than that.

@DeWayfarer Sometimes there can be multiple attempts, so very expensive?

@Gusman as you can see in just that little snip, yes! I does say just one attempt the average cost is 12,000. That's 12,000 US dollars!
