If a kid isn't ready to move out at 18 it does not mean their parents failed at all, it means the kid isn't ready.

Some kids are more independent than others and it depends a lot on job opportunities they have when they graduate and if they got to work before then to help build some self-confidence.

So basically the only parents who succeed are those whose kid moves out happily right at 18?🤔

I moved out unhappily and very thankfully at 18. My daughter just moved out 2 months ago at 18 but thank goodness she wasn't completely miserable here before she left! These days though many kids live with their parents longer than 18.. I don't know if that means they completely failed though.😜@gingershuman:

Well that's mean in my opinion. I would have loved it if my daughter had stuck around for longer and now she is far far away abroad. But I guess that means I succeeded!! I don't think I would ever have it in me to kick my own kid out on the street, however. I still have one to go though so we'll see and knock on wood..@gingershuman:

What if the child going to school and need to stay under the roof of the parents because they can't afford to move yet?

Why does it have to mean the parents failed. I mean. Not all psychos come from psycho parents.
Some things just cannot be helped or changed...they just are. And deciding that these are the only two plausible realities is beyond ignorant.
