I pity kids that are home schooled. They won't be prepared for the job market, that is so cruel and absolutely not very lenient.
That is the whole reason for public schools. To be on time. For a exacting schedule. Do this or that, at the moment of being told.
If you're not prepared for that, you're just fired. And same goes for any university. They'll fail the class.
I got jobs, just because I was that reliable! I didn't miss a single day of elementary school, nor junior high. I got awards for that. And if you weren't on time, you didn't get the award either. Effort was graded satisfactory or unsatisfactory. Being on time was an effort thing.

I was never homeschooled, as my education was the standard K-12 education, although retrospectively, I feel like I should have been.
For as long as I can remember, I've always been an "on my own terms" kind of person when it comes to learning.the subjects I want to learn.

@WanderingHelplessly Not to be offensive, but, your mainstream education system is often little to no better when you have entire schools unable to get a lid on bullying and teachers enabling the parents to emotionally abuse their children.
Who wants to "socialise" after being mobbed by their entire school year at the end of their first day in high school??? Who even kicks them out at the end of the first day without ensuring staff were present to ensure that something like this couldn't happen on school grounds???

@HootyTheNightOwl Have you encountered this fact? I see below my comment that there is another comment on some of what I touched on. Yet, you decided to pick a fight with me?
@WanderingHelplessly What I described was my own experience of mainstream education. My experience is just as valid as yours, even though you might not like it.
Further, speaking against what you speak highly of is not "picking a fight" - it is merely highlighting the point that so many homeschooling parents already know and accept... and that is that homeschooling works best for their children. Fair enough, some parents do better at meeting their children's needs than other parents do but on the other side of the same coin, state educating your children doesn't always do a better job of it, either, so maybe there is no perfect answer???
