Don't you hate it when something expensive is on sale and you still can't afford to buy it?

ie. I am trying to get a good chest of drawers for my daughter as a birthday present (but she really needs one anyway).

Some of the ones I've been looking at priced normally around A$1000 to $1200 have been 'on sale' for about $500 off, but I still can't afford them as it doesn't line up with my pay cycle! So I'll have to pay full price once I get paid.

Frustrating but that's the reality of family life when other things are more important to be paid and buying things for your kids has to be pushed down the list.

Thrift stores are my favorite, almost all the furniture in my house is thrifted. A chest of drawers is a common thing to find second hand in good condition. Maybe a little tough as a birthday present. I'd give her something smaller like a game or something on her actual birthday with the caveat that you'll search together for the chest of drawers and fix it up together if needed.
@Fallflower 👍🏼 Love the Thrift store.
