I came in to this world
With a hearing impairment.
Was a while before my mom.......or doctors could ascertain wether mah' hearin' would reach a normal level.
Oftentimes my mom and I would play a game.
I would sit on her lap........and she would silently mouthe words.
I'd try to take a stab, at what she said.
One time she silently said...
I love you
But mah' best 5 year old guess was....

That became a ........thing.... between us.
Years would pass an I graduated college. Perfect hearing an all.
On that day she gave me watch.
All bout' time.... And where we been
I think of her each time I put it on and read the inscription on the back ....
