When did your toddler start talking?

I know some are purely late bloomers in the speech dept and also totally fine. My son has said some words, he occasionally tries copying us or Ms Rachel when he watches her. He says "oh no" all the time. I'm just watching a 21 month old who has like a full vocab haha (not really) but copies whatever he is told to. My son is a little bit more stubborn than that 😅

I can’t remember exactly but I do know she hit all her milestones up until about 7. She has AuDHD. But most people wouldn’t be able to tell. She’s very advanced with reading and speech. Can just get overwhelmed in groups and busy environments. So it could be that he is ND or could be trauma. Just focusing on that circle of security is the best thing to do. Kids are pretty resilient.

@Notsimilarreally Yes. Apparently, here ears were clogged up and she couldn't hear properly (effectively deaf). It's a fairly common surgery for young children, and the tube is tiny. It was a huge for her. Thanks goodness for modern medicine!

Sounds like your son is going to be just fine - you just keep being a great mom and everything will be just fine!

@Markinator ah I see! And thanks 😊

Both my kids started talking at 10 months, stopped at 12m both autistic. Both started talking again around 4 years. Now at 9 years you'd never know my son was nonverbal for years. My daughter is 15 and limited verbal.

All of my kids talked early except for my Twins. They had to go to speech therapy because they still were not speaking at three. they had created their own language they spoke between themselves at 2 but they couldn’t speak what I would refer to as English. My doctor actually warned me about all of this when I was pregnant that they would likely have their own language, and they would likely be late talkers.

My younger daughter was about 2 and a half. She just mumbled a lot. We thought she had special needs, and then the doctor recommended putting tubes in her ears. It was amazing - just a few days after the surgery, she was talking! She's turned out to be a normal, productive person (no special needs)!

Mine didn't start talking at a very young age but we were a bilingual family and according to the doctor that was normal she didn't start really talking till she was three but when she did she could almost form complete sentences without a problem.

All of my children started talking early. Around 5mo. By 1 they could have simple conversations and by 2 my oldest son told me "mom, I don't feel like having this conversation"🙄 he's still very much like that too😅 little weirdo hahaha. I miss those times sometimes

My daughter has been talking since about 15 months. At 22 months she has a lot to say lol.

I didn’t talk til I was 3. I turned out mostly fine 😂

Do you talk to him a lot? Mine all talked pretty early. My oldest daughter (by 8 min) would practice a word over and over at nap time and then say it perfectly to me 🥺
Notsimilarreally · 31-35, F
@MyNameIsHurl yeah see, it can be normal! I worry about everything as you know lol
MyNameIsHurl · 41-45, F
@Notsimilarreally yeah but don't start comparing to other kids cuz they are all different. I think I told you before on not my tribe started walking well before the other
Notsimilarreally · 31-35, F
@MyNameIsHurl yes I know I know! I try not to.

She doesn't.
She hasn't said anything that's recognizable in human.
She also has really sharp teeth.
She's also a Jack Russel terrier.
I think just before 2 but not properly until 2 and a half.
tell your kid to watch blue lock season 2
