Because there are health risks associated with advanced parental age, from both the father and the mother. Those risks increase as they get older, and it’s still only a small increase. Many people over 35 have healthy, normal kids. Just look at Robert Deniro, he’s like 500 years old and is having seemingly healthy children. But the risk is there.
