Are parents always selfless towards their children?

If not then what way are they selfish
All of anybody is not identical.

Yes, there are selfish parents.

My parents were not selfish and made many sacrifices for their six children. I am very grateful for that.

Even when parents seem selfish (example: demanding their children follow a particular career path), they may be convinced that career will bring their child the most success and therefore happiness.

I watch my daughter now, seven years into parenting her stepchild, and I see my wonderful parents in her.

I would say even the very best of parents have done things that could be considered some what selfish at times but in order to be better parents you have to also take care of yourself and not just your children.

Sadly not.
If you choose to become a parent, you should always put yr kids first. But, not all parents do.

Mine were always awesome even though their options were limited.

pretty sure the ones that do all the necessary bits to create them, then decide later that they were a "mistake" then abort them are pretty selfish...

all these people barking on about wanting free healthcare and free college...
perhaps we should start with Sex Ed for adults that either failed it or slept through it the first time in middle school... 🤔
Well most parents I have come across abuse their kids so yeah that is pretty selfish.
Wouldn’t it depend on the parents ? Not all behave in the same way.
