Mine were poor. Me and my siblings were always embarrassed about it.

My parents were solid working middle class. That being said they were wealthy beyond comprehension compared to so many folks in different parts of the world.
We were never hungry, we had clothes, a home, a car, decent medical care, decent schools, church and community. Vacations were simple, usually visiting relatives.

We were probably upper middle class. Both of my parents worked during my childhood, but they economized by sharing one vehicle until they WON a car, when I was in high school, and they also bought a car for each of their kids. My father's economies paid for his travels. He traveled to nearly every country on earth before he died.

My mother acted poor and was very frugal and never gave us much. It was only as i got older i discovered she was quite well off. She never spent much money or enjoyed her life and now it's too late.

I guess middle class. We didn’t struggle or anything but my mom couldn’t afford for us to live on our own so we lived with her parents, and I started working as soon as as I could.

We were broke but my Mom did the best she could with my useless father who wouldn't keep a job ...

We were wealthy middle class family but if you had ever met my dad you would think we were really rich .He was a total snob and racist as well .If you lived on the wrong side of the street he would not even say hello to you .
He and I clashed alot because I would speak to anyone and treat them with respect if they treated me the same .He disowned me when I married someone from a council estate .

We were alright. Like you say; a house, food and clothes, so I can't complain. We didn't have much in the way of expendable income, which makes you appreciate what you do get more.

We'd holiday in the UK locally as it was usually cheaper. We only went abroad for a holiday once, which was a massive deal for me. Good memories, though.
we went to KFC to lick other peoples fingers

We weren't well off. Any amount of money couldn't have made a dysfunctional home life any better or worse. I've broke the mould and my kids better off than I ever was and for that alone I'm forever greatful just to have got through such a mad sad life that my kids haven't had to endure.

poor, like really effing poor
Same.
A holiday was going camping with home made sleeping bags.

Was still fun ...taught us to be creative.
We got by, never went without what we needed. My parents helped us through college best they could, but I borrowed about 60% of mine and worked and my brother too a military scholarship for part of his.

Hmmm….depends which household. My moms house was poor because my father didn’t pay his child support. My dads was rich because that’s where all his money was put into. Nothing like driving in a stupid corvette when he picked us up so he look like a rich idiot.

Poor. I remember getting yelled at school because my teacher saw a parent from the school drop me lol. We couldn't afford a car. So my mom would walk me to school on the bus strike and I felt like shit for taking a ride in a student's car to the same school.

My parents were immigrants and came to Canada with nothing but the clothes on their backs. They were poor…but to have the opportunity to do better was all they needed to feel rich.

i'd say mine were middle class, we weren't particularly wealthy but i wouldn't call us poor. both my parents worked and i was an only child so it was possible to have savings.

Your statement sums up me growing up . There’s a song on here somewhere by the Moron brothers about being poor and happy.again that was us in many ways back then.

I guess my family would be classed as wealthy, but we’re not super rich or anything
