On my Dads side we can trace, through family bibles, back to 1650. The family are of Huguenot origin and fled France to England in around 1665 owing to religious persecution.

@Loretta78 Wow. That's very cool. His didn't go back that far. He had one branch that got back to the 1600's.

My dad’s been working on ours for nearly 30 years and has it traced accurately back to about 1000BCE, and with some question as to accuracy back to about 2000BCE.

Some lines back to the 1500's in England. Some lines only back to the 1700's. Some female lines only to the mid-1800's because their last names were not listed in many records.
